Head of Investment Operations

We were instructed by a well-known asset management firm with a strong reputation for its emerging market equity products. As part of a global group, they manage in excess of $125 billion AUM with a strong suite of products which they planned to introduce into the European market place.

With substantial growth planned over the coming years the businesses were looking to add a Head of Investment Operations to its Isle of Man team.

The Head of Investment Operations would have primary responsibility for the coordination of all investment operational activities both internally and externally including responsibility for leading and managing the trading, settlements, portfolio administration and fund valuation teams.

This was a particularly challenging search due to the location and seniority of the role. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 15 years’ operations experience in asset management, a strong systems implementation background, a broad understanding of equities and fixed income products and an emerging markets background.  Given the lack of local available candidates we had to manage our client expectations and broaden the search so as to target major financial centres.

With a relocation plan available we exceeded our clients expectations and successfully identified the right candidate within 4 weeks of taking on the mandate.
